JUSTICE likley died before 1810 & m: Elizabeth _____? circa 1780. Based on the census, she was born before 1775 and had 11 slaves at that time. A. Stephen JUSTICE was born circa 1780. By 1805, he is on the census of Jefferson Co., Miss & married Eliza BONNER on 4 July 1805 Jefferson Co., Miss. He is listed on the Adams Co., Miss Tax List in 1810. Nothing else is known of him/ family. B. William JUSTICE was born 1784 - 1789 in Georgia. He married Mary MANADUE 7 June 1807 Jefferson Co., Miss. & appeared on the census of 1810 at Rapides Parish, La. He enlisted at Alexandria, Rapides Parish, La. on 7 Jan 1812, fought at the Battle of New Orleans and his pension application states he was a Second Lieut in 1812. He appeared on the Rapides Parish census of 1820, land surveys in 1829, and on Rapides Parish, La. censuses of 1830, 1840 and 1850. He was from Cotile and served as a Rapides Parish juror in 1850. He made a War of 1812 pension application & stated he served as a Private then Second Lieut. in Capt. Thomas Patterson's 15th Louisiana Regiment commanded by Josiah Johnston and received a Bounty Land Warrant for 160 acres in 1852. He appeared on the Rapides Parish, La. 1860 census and died before 1870. The known children of William & mary Manadue Justice were: 1. Eli Manadue JUSTICE b: 22 January 1809 Jefferson Co., Miss. He resided with his family in Rapides Parish, La. and was listed on the 1840 Brazoria Co., Tx Tax Roll with no land, 8 slaves, a total of 8 horses, 1 show saddle horse, and 1 silver watch. He emigrated to Texas, as per his tombstone, in January 1840. He died on 30 Oct 1857 Brazoria Co., Tx. at age 48 and was buried at Sandy Point Cemetery, in Brazoria County, Tx. He is said to have served with "Terry's Texas Ranger's". 2. Stephen Jackson JUSTICE b: 12 June 1816 Rapides Parish, La. He is included on the Rapides Parish 1820 & 1830 censuses and likely went to Texas with his older brother Eli Manadue Justice in January 1840. He was Justice of the Peace and performed a 1841 marriage in Brazoria Co., Tx. He married 6 April 1842 Elizabeth Summers SCOBEY, dau. of Robert SCOBEY and Mary FULSHEAR, in Brazoria Co., Tx. He patented 638.56 acres; section 34, township 12N, range 15W on 1 April 1843 in DeSoto Parish, La. He appeared on the 1850 census of Rapides Parish, Louisiana. He died 10 July 1856 at age 40. Place of burial unknown. a) Mary Elizabeth JUSTICE was born 3 December 1843 Tx. & she married John Henry KIPP, son of Abraham H. KIPP, on 8 July 1869 in Texas. She had 9 Kipp children betw. 1870-1890 and died on 1 July 1908 Galveston, Tx. at age 64. b) Louisa JUSTICE was born circa 1848 La and needs to be placed on census records. c) R____ JUSTICE, a daughter, born c1851 in Texas. d) L____ JUSTICE, a daughter, born c1855 in Texas.
