Can anyone tell me which Stampley wife died on Aug 18, 1857? Apparently she had this huge funeral and was very well loved in the neighborhood. She is mentioned all through the diary of Susan S. Darden. My curiosity has me by the neck and will not let go! My husband's 2G Uncle, Stephen Compton Stampley is mentioned in the diary several times a year but I am sure it is not his wife, Elizabeth because she did not die until after 1900. Ann Allen Geoghegan Researching Jefferson & Franklin County, MS I wasn't born in MS but I got here as quick as I could! The things that come to those that wait may be the things left by those who got there first!
