I am interested in the Buie connection. Have Buie's in my husbands family.

Have you seen Scott Buie's book, "From Scotland to North America, the Family Buie"? The synopsis that quite a few Buies left the Island of Jura (off the coast of Scotland) in the 1720 and landed in North Carolina. From there, the famlies have spread through Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. My ancestor Mary Jane Buie was born in Catahoula Parish, La. Eventually she arrived in Upshur County, Texas. Her third husband was A. Smith Kilgore. Their only offspring was Mary Alicia Kilgore who is my great grandmother.
