I have found a good site to search for Jefferson County material and people. It is a part of the online material found in the Library of Congress. For example, you can use the search engine on this page with words such as "Rodney Mississippi" or "Mississippi territory"or names of people such as "Thomas Rodney", but be sure to use quotes for phrases. There are a lot of old pictures here of Rodney in the depression era. Also, the names of a number of the men important in the early MS territory days are found in the papers of Thomas Jefferson, online here. One interesting story I found was the murder of Dr. Jeremiah Chamberlain in Rodney, as recorded in the Port Gibson Correspondant in 1851. http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/amhome.html
