Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Jefferson/428 Surname: LUDLOW, NEEL, NEAL, NEILL ------------------------- Lanear [or Linear] W. Ludlow, Sr. (b. 1815 Miss d. 1894 Texas, buried Ebenezer Cemetery, Jasper Co, TX) married Feb 18, 1837 in Madison Co, MS to Mrs. Charlotte Tidwell Neal [or Neel or Neill (b. ca 1812 Miss d. after 1860 TX). She was the dau of Fances Tidwell (b. 1780 d 1840 Madison Co, MS) & Rebecca ___ & had first married John C Neal (b. between 1794 & 1800). Lanear is on the 1840 Clarke Co, MS census, the 1840-41 Clarke Co tax rolls, the 1849 Hinds Co, MS tax roll, & the 1850 Polk Co census. I am researching Calvin M Ludlow who was somehow related to Lanear Ludlow, Sr. Calvin was born about 1800/01 in Tenn & moved with Lanear to Polk Co. TX about 1849/50. Calvin is on the 1830 Monroe Co, ALA census, the 1835-41 Clarke Co tax rolls, the 1843-48 Scott Co tax rolls, the 1850 Polk Co, TX Census, & the 1860 Tyler Co, TX census. Calvin married (1)Lucinda Hurt and (2)1846 Mary E Parker in Rankin Co, MS. His children include (1)Wm M Ludlow who went back to Miss & settled in Scott Co & after the Civil War Madison Co, MS (2)Mahala Ludlow m. J B Schofield in Texas, (3) Mary Ludlow, & (4) John A Ludlow The Ludlows were early settlers of MS. I suspect Maxfield Ludlow or John S Ludlow, both of MS, were the generation prior to Calvin & Lanear. How do you track back to Jefferson Co, MS? I have some info I've gathered on Sarah Ann Ludlow who married (1) 1856 Duncan Johnson and (2) 1860 James B Pace. Does your husband's line include Hardy M Pace (1861-1945), a son of James B. & Sarah Pace? My Ludlow line is through Calvin M Ludlow to William M Ludlow to Benjamin F. Ludlow, my g-grandfather on my mother's side. Would like to hear from you & share data.
