    1. [MSJEFFER-L] Chambers family of MS and AL
    2. Barry Fox
    3. I have been researching the Chambers family for a number of years, trying to find the ancestry of my gg grandfather, Israel Chambers. From AL census records, the only information I know about him is that he was born somewhere in MS between 1820-1825. He married in Bibb County, AL in 1843, so I have roots in those surrounding counties as well. Recently I began a methodical search through the MS and AL census records trying to find some kind of connection. The information I have gathered (and still am gathering) could also be useful to other researchers of this family name, so I wanted to make it available. I have created a small website with what I have gleaned so far. Of course, my ultimate hope is that someone from my Chambers family will come forth with additional information. I will also be sending this URL to the county website coordinators hoping it will get posted there too. I thought I would get a jump start with the mailing list. I hope someone finds this useful. 3. Posted on: Jefferson Co. Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Jefferson/468 Surname: Jones, CURVIN ------------------------- Am looking for parents and sibblings of Macie, we have a picture of her with two sisters, probably made about 1918 or so, she had two girls, born by 1920, became ill, and was in a hospital, someplace close by Fayette, she had what was called elephant foot, problem, as both feet were extremely deformed. She, her husband George and her oldest child Lula May are shown on the 1920 Jefferson county census from the archives in Jackson. Another child was born later in 1920, Macie became ill and was hospitalized, her husband gave her two girls away, one was put up for adoption, and Lula May was never leagelly adopted, and was raised by A Vaughn family who lived in Redlick and later moved to Hazlehurst. Macy left the hospital looking for her children, and was found dead in the streets of FAyette on 2-4-1922. She was 22 years old. Where did her husband go, he was from Maryland? They had family coming towards Fayette in the curve of the road where a store use to be across from the store were three houses, and a relative lived in one of the houses, does this ring a bell out there.
