You might want to try out this site, it's the best search page I've found for GenForum.com and Ancestry.com: http://images.gencircles.com/message/searcher It searches both boards....you can search the body of each message and also search by poster's name and message subject. 1. [MSJEFFER-L] Re: REES/REESE
    2. Fleming S. Reese married Nancy Whittington in Montgomery Co., AL, on 27 Nov. 1838, according to CD-3, Marriage records of Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina. In Southwest MST, the only Rees or Reese listed in court cases, acts of the legislature or early censuses was Ebenezer Rees, sometimes spelled Reese. In Oct. 1798 he took the Oath of Allegiance to the United States at Natchez. In 1805 he was Sheriff of Adams County, MST (Natchez), with the MST legislature setting his salary. His name appeared in various Court cases in Adams Co. through 1818. In the 1816 Census of Adams County, MST, he had two sons under 21, one female under 21 and one female over 21, and three slaves. Censuses for Adams Co., MST, as well as the other counties in that area are available on microfilm for rental from Heritage Quest in Utah. (www.heritagequest.com). Although Tax Rolls are available on microfilm for the MST period for that area, they don't seem to be for rent. The Caliborne-Jefferson County Genealogical Society has both the Census and Tax Roll data on microfilm at Port Gibson, MS, in the Library there. George R. Lewis

    1. [MSJEFFER-L] "Country Churchyards"
    2. Nancy Brister
    3. Hi everyone, Just discovered Eudora Welty's "Country Churchyards." It was only published a year ago, but the photos in the book were taken by Miss Welty in the 1930's and 1940's. The book is made up of photographs of Mississippi churches/cemeteries/individual tombstones, with selected passages from her writings. I was surprised to find 10 different photos of Rodney churches or cemeteries in the book.....including Rodney Presbyterian, Bethel, Baptist and Catholic. The photos are both interesting and beautiful. It was published by University Press of Mississippi, 2000. Nancy Brister "It is a church upon whose calm interior nothing seems to press from the outer world.... (Even cannonballs were stopped by its strong walls, and are in them yet.) It is the kind of little church in which you might instinctively say prayers for your friends." "Some Notes on River Country" Eudora Welty

    3. January 30, 1900 DOB DOD February 4, 1922 many of you remember me with this sad story, a month ago, we sent $15 to the archives in Jackson, looking for a death certificate this has been one of the most difficult young women to find, she is my husbands grandmother they could not find a death certiciate and even checked the Fayette Chronical for an obitiary,,and NOTHING was found now since we know she is buried in the city cemetery in Fayette my next step, I hope or guess will be to try and find out, who or where does one get a Lot, in that cemetery , through the city clerk? I thought If some of you who live there, have an address or any idea how I can learn about this, we can write to them to see who might have obtained the lot, and who did the funeral, I imagine all records from that period, are not much help unless the same funeral home hasa been there for that many years any help is appreciated I guess too I can now write the state of LA and others to see if they might have a certificate for her, she does show up on the 1920 census with her first daughter Lula Mae Curvin, and her husband George Lula May was a year old a second daughter was born in 1920 Macie had Elephant foot disease, which was very very large feet your help is appreciated God Bless Lynda
