Peter F. Franks was my great-great grandfather. He is buried at Keys Cemetery in Itawamba County. He married Julyan S. Pace ("Julie or Julia") in Memphis while in service during the civil war. I always wondered how she got there or why she was there? She was also from Marion County where they both lived prior to the war and where they went back to after the war. They first moved to McNairy County TN, where my great grandfather, Thomas Jefferson "Tom" Franks, was born and then they moved to Itawamba County where some of his brothers had already settled. Sarah Jane Franks, the oldest of Peter's children married not long after they moved there to Daniel Petty. Peter's other children were William Nelson, Henry Lee and James Mar "Jimmy" Franks. All these children but Sarah lived in or near Itawamba County. Sarah and family moved to MO.
