Does Wanda or anyone else know who in the Carolina Community is familiar with early history of Carolina Community. My Great Great Great Grandfather is buried there in 1859. We visited there last winter, the first time any of his descendants have been back there since 1866. We asked around but no one local knew early history of the Hester's. We are looking for any information on John or James Hester who came to Carolina Community from Autaugua County, Alabama about 1840 and before that lived in South Carolina. Any help would be much appreciated. Hi Warren, Here is the meager info I have on John Hester. He was the son of James Hester. Born 12/28/1812 in SC Died 11/14/1879 in Monroe County, MS Buried Hester Cemetery, Monroe Co., MS Married Nancy Cockrell 6/13/1844 in Carolina, Itawamba Co., MS. Nancy was born 2/1/1825 in AL She died 2/11/1907 in Monroe Co., MS She is also buried in Hester Cemetery, Monroe Co., MS. Do you have any additional info on John? I have more info on Nancy if you would like it. Like you I have a ggggrandfather and grandmother buried there somewhere in Carolina, but I have been unable to find them. They were there in the 1850 census but no succeeding ones. I have visited twice and plan on going back next spring to try and find more clues. The people at the courthouse were very friendly.
