Alford Rufus Roberts ( Feb. 25, 1826 in South Caroline - June 6, 1876 in Itawamba County, Miss.) married Mary Ann Whiteside (March 28, 1841 in Ala .- March 14, 1919 in Itawamba County, Miss.) were the parents of James Rufus Roberts They had 6 children: 1. Sarah L. Roberts (1860 - 1934) married Mark E. Conwill 2. R.J. Roberts (June 13, 1861 in Itawamba County, Miss. - Jan. 9, 1864 in Itawamba County, Miss) 3. Annie A. Roberts (Sept. 15, 1865 - July 11, 1890) married Tommy N. Francis 4. Alford B. Roberts (Aug. 9, 1867 in Itawamba County, Miss. - Aug. 20, 1872) 5. James Rufus Roberts (Aug. 15, 1872 - Dec. 25, 1948) married Ollie Louise Moore (Oct. 27, 1877 in Lee County, Miss. - May 16, 1958) Ollie was James second wife, his first wife was Genie Bell "Jeanne" Mullins 6.
