    3. I think that "Col. W.M. Pound" is probably William Marion Pound, 1828-1887. He started off as a private in Co. H. It was his brother that was Merriman Pound, 1819-1891, Captain of Co. H. They are both sons of Richard Pound and Cynthia Harkness. When I was in D.C. this summer I was able to take a look at one of the company muster rolls for Co. H. There sure are a lot of local boys in it. I also have a few Hill uncles in Co. E from Fredonia (modern Ingomar in Union County). If you have a chance (and I'm assuming you have the microfilm rolls), could you tell me if there are any details given about Reuben W. McCarty? He was in Co. H also. I am specifically looking for an age to make sure he was the right Reuben McCarty I'm thinking he was (born 1840 in SC). He's probably buried at Andrew's Chapel Cem. in Lee County. If you are looking for personal information about the soldiers (date of death, parents, wives, etc.), I can furnish it for a number of these. Please let me know what kind of information you are going to publish when you do put a book out.
