My ancestors are John and Catherine (Laird) Walker (both dying there in the 1860s + -). I was in Itawamba last week and took pictures of their graves at the Gilmore Chapel Cemetary. I'm curious about the Walker Bridge that goes over the leavee there... Anyone know why it's named that? Any history on it? My other ancestors there are the Beck, Long, and Lowery familes. thanks...
