    1. Re: [MSITAWAM-L] Ward Family in Itawamba Co., MS
    2. Hi! I'm descended from Itawamba County WARDS. Stephen Ward and wife Elizabeth--Stephen born in SC about 1809 and Elizabeth (?) born in Alabama. I don't find your Jackson Davis Ward in my files--but then I don't have the siblings of Stephen (or his parents, either). Mike Cobb (MCBB1@aol.com) is a Ward descendant--he has a bunch in Alabama that we're inclined to think might be brothers to my Stephen. I haven't communicated with him for a while, but you might email him. Let me hear from you if you want more details on my Stephen. I have his children. Regards, Jean Moore Murphy Ardmore, OK Stephen Ward/Elizabether ? (SC, AL, MS) > Sarah F. "Sallie" Ward/Mark Cook (MS) > Ella Cook/Jefferson A. Patterson (MS) > Hattie Patterson/Leonard Moore (MS, TX, OK) > Dallas Moore/Lucille Reid Moore (OK) > Phyllis Jean Moore Janaskie Murphy (ME!) I apologize for not responding sooner, but we've had Internet connection problems and just worked those out - I'm now responding to numerous e-mails that were holding. We do not have a database with obit information that is easily accessible to readers - we only have our old bound volumes of each week's newspaper. Most people just come to our office and look through those volumes and we make copies of obits that they want. The charge is simply for copies - 50c a sheet. Are you in the area where you could come by our office? If not, do you know specifically what dates you're looking for on these obits. We don't spend much time in researching, but if you knew specifics, we might be able to assist you and it would only be a small fee for doing that. If we can help, please feel free to contact me. My personal e-mail at The Times is itimes1@yahoo.com or you can use our regular paper e-mail which is itimes @intop.net. Sincerely, Charlotte A. 2. If you find where to order the book please let me know. Both sides of my family were from the Itawamba area. I live in Washington State, and it is difficult finding out a lot of information. I am looking for information on the Gillentines, Moore, Simmons, Morgan, Lawson and Yielding families. Thanks, Wanda

    2. Maston
    3. Mr. Pate said there are a few softcover copies available of the book "Sesquicentennial Edition: Itawamba Co. Mississippi Families (1836-1986)". Can anyone tell me where to order a copy? I have sent out several e-mails asking about this and some people wrote back that they don't know about it, and others never answered my e-mail. Those of us living in other states have to really work to find out about our families in MS. Thanks, Deborah (Johnson) Maston Descendant of Stephen & Elizabeth Johnson of Itawamba Co. 3. The sign pointing the way to Harden's Chapel Cemetery reads "Hardin's Chapel Cemetery". I realize the name is used interchangeably, but could't it say "Harden/Hardin's Chapel Cemetery"? Ann
