    1. [MSITAWAM-L] Massengill, Coker & Wright & Ita. Co. book lookup
    2. Allison Saxman
    3. Roll call details: My Itawamba County lines are: MASSENGILL/MASSENGALE (var. spellings found): Redick, his son Alfred, his son John T. and his son Ellie Oliver Massengill/Massengale all lived in Itawamba County at some point. Found in census records from 1840 (earliest) to ? (haven't finished researching) but Ellie Oliver was b. in Itawamba Co. in 1888. COKER: Earliest known Coker is Billy Coker, father of Joel Coker, father of Columbus Washington Coker, who's daughter, Nola Leanna Coker, married Ellie Oliver Massengale. WRIGHT: Robert Richard Wright and Nancy T. Cody were parents of Mary Melinda Nancy Jane Wright, who married Columbus Washington "Lum" Coker (see above). I would be interested to know if any of these lines are mentioned in the Itawamba County book so I can decide if it's worth purchasing or not. I forgot who offered to check but you have my deepest thanks in advance! Thank you all in advance! Allison Massengill Saxman

A, 7th MS Infantry If you will go to the MS Divison, Sons of Confederate Veterans, website at www.mississippiscv.org and click on the "Mississippi History" tab, you'll find capsule histories of all these units, usually with the county of origin/organization for each company indicated. Look by regiment, then company to see if any of these could be your Elisha. Good luck! If you find a likely candidate, click on the MS Dept. of Archives & History tab at the end of each regimental history and order his Compiled Service Record (inidividual soldier's record).
