I have James A. Stephens wife as M. V. (Cassie) Warren, b. 1858 in South Carolina. I picked this up from a cousin. Haven't been able to verify. Verification would be helpful. Carroll A. Stephens and Mary Jane (Barnes) Stephens are buried in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Hunt County, Texas. I really don't know. I don't have parents listed for her. I'm more interested in J. R. McMillen's third wife Dicey Harris who was the sister of my g-grandmother. I've collected what I can on all of J. R.'s families because several of the kids from each of his previous marriages lived with them after he married Dicey. It's amazing to me that a few of his children are older than Dicey! I found these discrepancies in the James Richard McMillen data: 1. James Richard McMillen could not have married Nancy M. Kingsley in LEE county in 1851 because that county was not in existence at that time. Marriage was likely in Itawamba. 2. A date I had received from another McMillen researcher for Edward McMillen's birth was 9 Oct 1867 rather than 8 Oct. I have no idea which is correct. 3. Marthy Bell McMillen was probably born in 1879 rather than 1880. The 1900 census does say Bell was born in August 1880; however, the 1880 census lists Marthy B. as having been 9 months old when the census was taken June 26. Therefore, she was likely born in 1879.
