Yes, I grew up in Fulton, and I go back to visit family and friends (and to replace flowers at the cemeteries) at least one time a year. In fact I am going for my niece's wedding the first week in June. I lived between Mantachie and Fulton on Old River Road on a 100 Acre farm for most of my childhood until I was in my Jr. year of High School. The names you mentioned sound familiar, but I haven't lived there since 1981, but, I wouldn't put it past my mother to know them, she knows everyone (no kidding- she always seems to know everyone) We both live in North Carolina now but she grew up there too. Richard Johnson was born 30 Oct 1812 and died 30 Dec 1896 in Mantachie, Itawamba County, Mississippi. He married Nancy Jane Birdsong (Native American - Creek Tribe) date unknown. She was born on 15 April 1819 and died 8 Sept 1888 in Mantachie, Itawamba County Mississippi. From stories we have had told to us through the family verbally, they came from southern Georgia in a covered wagon. We have photo's of Nancy and Richard. They were tin-type old pictures that we have had copies made of. I have no information on the siblings of my great grandmother Nancy Alice, but here is her info: Nancy Alice Johnson born 19 Sept 1859 and died 22 Nov 1945 in Mantachie, Itawamba County, Mississippi. Married James William Davidson on 15 Nov. 1874 in Lee County Mississippi. James was born 28 April 1851 and died 1 Nov 1939 in Mantachie, Itawamba County, Mississippi. Our LYLE family immigrated from South Carolina to Georgia and then spread on out to Alabama, Mississippi and Texas. Although not my direct line, I'm interested in any information anyone might have on the Berryman E. Lyle that settled in Itawamba Co., MS. Berryman was married at least twice, and maybe three times. I have found a B E LYLE who married W M Andrews in Elmore Co., AL, which is where this line lived in the 1870's. Then, I found that a B E Lyle married Maryann Davison in Itawamba Co., MS. I feel sure that both of these marriages were for this Berryman, but have nothing definite. On 2/16/1892, Berryman married Kathryn Wigington in Itawamba, and Kate appears with him in the 1900 and 1910 Itawamba Co., MS census records. Berryman had at least two children before marrying Kate -- Maude and Norman Lyle. Then, his and Kate's children were Ida, Erastus, Ila, Ackless, Lallie, Lela, Vernon, and Elma Lyle.
