    3. Don - I have Mary Ann Whitesides as the youngest child of James Whitesides and Sarah Guyton. James and his brother Major Whitesides came to Mississippi from York County, South Carolina. There was another Whitesides (Wallace or Walice) that may be a cousin originally from North Carolina who may be in Itawamba county at this time. He disappears from North Carolina and the name reappears in Itawamba county about the same time James and Major arrive in Itawamba county. Mary Ann was born 3 - 28-1841 and died 3-14-1919. She was married to Alfred R. Roberts. No other dates. Jim Whiteside

    2. Hi Callie, I'd like to jump in here on the Whitesides discussion. You asked about James Whitesides and his wife Sarah Guyton. James Whitesides is the brother of my ancestor, Major Whitesides. I show three children listed for James and Sarah - Robert, Major, and Thomas B. Is Mary Ann their daughter? Barbara

    2. Whitesides Cemetery is on line at: http://genforum.genealogy.com/ms/itawamba/messages/661.html Go there and noted any parents names that you can find and then I can help. Some children of James Whitesides are also buried at the Keys Cemetery, not on line.. Do not have daughter Mary Ann Whitesides? Any dates, husband name etc.

    3. Hi Bobbe: I have no infro on a Arminda Chamblee Roberts. Are you related to Joe or Bud Duvall? If you come across more infro on the Roberts please let me know. I am also looking for infor on the Whiteside family who lived in Fulton, their youngest daughter was Mary Ann and her parents were James Whiteside and Sarah Guyton, also the Crafton Family who owned a store at the corner of Boat Ramp Rd and Walker Bridge Rd. I found an article in one of the Itawamba Settlers but forgot to write down the information. I think it was dated 1995 but I could be wrong. When I was down there last winter I found a book, not sure of the name, you had two books but one had the pages separated so you could make better copies. Do you know how I can get that book or have copies made? Thanks Callie -----Original Message----- From: Bobbe J. 2. ann
    3. This was on another mailing list I'm subbed to: If you have been procrastinating sending off for a Social Security application for any of your ancestors, now is the time to do it! Effective July 1, 2001, there will be a major fee increase for processing requests for copies of original applications for Social Security cards and for computer extracts of this information. This has been confirmed with Roger Williams in the FOIA office of the SSA. New Fees (effective July 1, 2001): Copies of the original application for a Social Security card (Form SS-5) will cost $27 if the social security number is provided, and $29 if it is not provided. These fees were previously $7 and $16.50, respectively. Computer extracts of the application will cost $16 with the number and $18without. Requests postmarked prior to July 1, 2001, will not be subject to the new fees. So, if you've procrastinated on your requests, get them in now! Requests posted on or after July 1, 2001, will be returned if they do not include the new amount and a credit card number has not been provided to charge for additional costs. ~ann~

    3. Thank you for correcting my typo on Francis M. Childers and Nancy Hicks marriage date -- had some interruptions and should have typed January 11, 1857 instead of 1865. However, the listing for Elizabeth Childers and John Braumer at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~robfra/marr4.html 296--- Braumer, John--- Childers, Elizabeth--- 30 Dec 1856--- C. T. Whitten, JP has "Braumer" instead of "Brown". Possibly someone misread the name since this was taken from a book in badly deteriorated condition; if anyone knows for sure, hope they will correct it to the list. Thanks Peggy DPate80296@aol.com wrote: > In a message dated 6/21/01 10:03:43 AM Pacific Daylight Time, > wphor@shreve.net writes: > > > ii. ELIZABETH CHILDERS, b. Abt. 1832, South Carolina, m. 2. Peggy, I don't know that this will help you or not but there were some Childer's /Childress in St. Francis Co., Arkansas. I have no idea where they were from but one married Ollie Brown in 1916 in St. Francis Co., Arkansas. Her parent's were from Itawamba Co., MS. I don't know if some of the Childer's came into Arkansas when that family came or not. Marilyn Dickson
