My math skills were on vacation when I replied previously. This Cornelia is not of the right age group. She would have only been 11 years old in 1860. My great-grandfather md. a woman named Cornelia. I am searching for her maiden name and for her parents. In the 1860 census of Holmes Co., she is listed as 22 years old, born in MS and was married within the year. Anyone have a Cornelia in their line? Thanks! Hi, My name is Robert Rodgers. There is a Brown in my family history. My grandfather's (Robert Alfred Rodgers) mother was a Brown. They called her Ma Willie. I am at work right now, but I will look up the information that I have about her when I get home. They did live in Holmes County MS near Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. If I remember correctly, she died around 1948 (I might be getting my two great- grandmother death dates mixed up). I believe she died from pneumonia. The story has it (via my father) that she was visiting a relative late one night during the winter, as she was going home she crossed through a creek. Thats how she came down with pneumonia. I have a couple of pictures of her. One holding my grandfather when he was about 1 yo; the other around 1940s with her husband Robert Calvin Rodgers. I understand she like to dip snuff. She wasn't a very big women (both weight and height). I would be intersted in finding more out. I am in school right now. I will be returning to military service at the end of August. I hope that around Oct that I can pick back up with my ancestory search. I have a lot on my mom's side; I have some on my father's side (Mostly Rodgers). My father is interested in the Brown line. My have found a connection in North-South Carolina. Our problem is to connect the two. I look forward to hearing from you again. Hello! I, too, have Browns in my family line as well as Rodgers. I will post as soon as I have the time. I'll be delighted to 'talk' with both of you and perhaps we can share info. And, mine were in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church area as well. I have tombstone photos as I have been to 3 cemeteries in the area. Til next time... I'm not sure which way the lineage is but I think one of my Swinney family of Holmes Co., MS married into the Rhyne family. (The son or dau. was John K. Swinney's offspring). John K. Swinney was b. around 1811 in SC.......was in Holmes Co., MS by 1850). If it is of any importance to you, let me know and I will look through my records.
