They were on the 1850 census. Elias Hancock and Susan Melton married in Franklin Co. My link, Jasper Newton Holmes married their daughter Hariet A. Hancock. She had a brother Joseph R. Hancock, born about 1842, a sister, Frances A. born about 1844 married James M. Arnold, another brother, John A. Hancock born about 1847. If you have any information on any of these names contact me.
