(Pete) Halford, 72, of Rt. 1, Meadville. Mr. Halford died March 5 at Franklin Hospital. He was born Oct. 29, 1906 in Franklin County, son of the late Larry Halford and Hattie Black Halford. He had worked in logging and lumber and was a member of Bude Methodist Church. Rev. Jennings Poole officiated. Burial was in Midway Cemetery with Franklin Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lela Smith Halford, Rt. 1, Meadville; one son Wayne Halford, Gonzales, La.; three daughters, Mrs Elsie Quinn, Bossier City, La., Mrs. Erma Luckett, Vicksburg, and Miss Nora Beth Halford, Gulfport; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Aaron Halford of Meadville, Hollis Halford of Baytown, Tex., and Julius Halford of Carthage, Tex.; five sisters, Mrs. L.C. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery with the Rev. Jennings Poole officiating. A logging and lumber contractor, Mr. Halford was a member of the Bude Methodist Church. Survivors include: wife, Mrs. Lela Smith Halford; a son Wayne Halford, Gonzales, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Quinn, Bossier City, La., Mrs. Erma Luckett, Vicksburg, and Miss Nora Beth Halford, Gulf port; three brothers, Aaron Halford, Meadville, Hollis Halford, Bay Town, Texas and Julius Halford, Carthage, Texas; five sisters, Mrs. Elsie Edwards, Roxie, Miss., Mrs. Lois Brooker, Olive Branch, Miss., Mrs. Ray Carlock, Vidalia, Mrs. Lucille Brosette, Shreveport, and Mrs. Freddy Arsineau, Columbus, Miss.; and seven grandchildren. Viewing will be from 1 to 10 p.m. todav at the funeral home.
