Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Franklin/10884 Surname: Williams, Griffing ------------------------- Anthony- Is the 1860 census info. you refer to a census or a census map, and if a map, do the locations of the numbered residences you mention show up on the map? I would very much enjoy looking at the census info. I would like for you to see my plat also; it is very large and is a blue-line print, but perhaps I could duplicate in pieces on my copier and tape it together to send to you, if you feel like it would help you. In going through some of grandmother's info. on the Guices, I see the mention of you gg parents in the family line that she put together. Shows that Jonathan Guice, son of Jacob Guice, was born 30 March, 1823. Baptized at Mt. Carmel Church (present day Mt. Carmel cemetery is very near where I go hunting each year) in 1844 by Brother Pierce. Died in Franklin County. Married Sarah Jane Griffin in Franklin County Jan. 7, 1845. Jane Guice died June 26, 1887. My records show that Daniel Guice, who was apparently the uncle of your Jonathan Guice, married Delilah Williams, who was a sister of Electious Williams, who was my gggg grandfather, in 1810. Eelctious had moved to Miss. from Virginia, where his family lived adjacent to Mt. Vernon. My records state that delilah was a favorite of "Lady Washington" (Martha Washington). In addition, my records show that Electious Williams also married a Guice- Hannah E. Guice, who died Nov. 24, 1799, and John Clem Williams, son of Electious, married Mary Elizabeth Guice, who died Nov. 22, 1875. So, I guess we could say that we are "distant relatives."
