Sharon, I have a Dicey who became a widow in 1821 when her husband William M Smith died. She was in Franklin Co. after that, with a young daughter, according to court records. Could this be your Dicey by chance? Maybe she married Middleton, then Pickering? I have searched and cannot find Dicey Smith in early records.
