    2. Ed & Sandi, You need to have to have a General Highway Map of Franklin County to understand how it is set out and to know specifically where each Section in each Township and Range is. I have one so its easy for me, but understandably difficult for anyone without it. Franklin County is layed out from the Adams County line to the East to West where it connects to Lincoln County with five equidistant Ranges plus a segment of a Range. Make believe that these are imaginary vertical lines drawn from north to the south. Thus, beginning from East to West they are called: Range 1 East (R1E), Range 2 East (R2E), Range 3 East (R3E), Range 4 East (R4E), Range 5 East (R5E), and lastly the very small segment of Range 6 East (R6E). Next we will slice Franklin County into three horizontal layers. The bottom layer we will call Township 5 North (T5N), the middle layer we be called Township 6 North (T6N), and the top layer will be called Township 7 North (T7N). This basically gives us a series of rectangles and within each rectangle there are a series of sections. To know where a parcel of land is located one must know the Township, Range and Section. (At this scale it is impossible for me to show the Sections, but at least the following map shows what I have been trying to expain.)
