Benjamin and Minerva (Hawthorne) Goodson have two children: Telida M and Mary V. Goodson. Both parents die, by or before 22 October 1864 in Claiborne Parish, LA The children must have tutors [guardians] Jefferson W. Cook seeks and is given Guardianship of these minor children, and James M Cook is Under Tutor [Guardian]. Jefferson W. Cook dies on August 11, 1868. James M. Cook, (Bienville Parish, LA) seeks and is given Guardianship of these minor children, with Pleasant R. Beard, Under Tutor. James M Cook states that he is their nearest relative and he is appointed with-out bond. He also states that although the children do not have interest in any property in Louisiana, they probably do in Mississippi.
