Many are still in Brookhaven, MS. I have information dating back to est 1850 regarding my great-grand father and most of his children. Look forward to hearing from you. Your surname Gaines I believe is from one of William "Knox" Rancifer descendants I think one of them was named Thomas Gaines I'll have to check my file again.
Hi: lived in Franklin co most of my life--I have never heard the name Rancifer-- in what section of the County did they live? I knew less about District Five people--was that the area?
