Glenn, This is wonderful information on Masonry and the lodges. I've driven past the Ben Franklin Lodge a number of times and often wondered about it. There is also a lodge in Bude on the right side near the overpass going into Meadville. I'm sure a number of my ancestors and cousins were members of the Ben Franklin lodge or the lodge in Fayette. The Ben Franklin Lodge put out an interesting paper around 1958 which was its Centennial observance. I think it listed lodge officers and members over the years. Tony Miller

Thanks Tony, This is the information I received years ago on the HAVIS/FLOWERS. I already had an Ephraim Flowers married to Mary A. Havis passed down to me by my Havis relatives. Then I connected with a Flowers' researcher that told me the following: In the "Jersey Settlers" book it states the following on Henry Graham Flowers . . . . son of William Ephraim Flowers and Mary A.(Anna) Havis. Her parents operated Havis Tavern on the Natchez Trace. Ephraim came to MS Territory in the early 1800s and homesteaded on Fifteen-mile Creek just south of Jefferson Co line in Franklin Co. Do you have access to this book? Anyway here is where it gets sticky. Mary A. (Anna) is the daughter of Thomas Rutledge Havis and Sarah, actual date of birth unknown. Thomas Havis did operate the Havis Tavern. Even if she was the oldest child, she still would have been born in abt 1808. I don't have all of Ephraim and Mary's children, but the ones I do have are too old to be hers. BUT, the Flower's researcher thought she may have been Ephrain's 2nd wife, but no idea who would have been the first. Note the William before the name Ephraim. What do you think? Would anyone know about a Masonic Lodge # 48 in Meadville? I am wondering if the Lodge has a cemetery or a connection to another cemetery. Elaine
Elaine, The Masonic Lodge in Meadville does not have a cemetery. It is in a beautiful old brick building. The closest cemetery is Midway Cemetery which is between Meadville and Bude, perhaps about a mile from the Lodge. Tony Miller

Hi Elaine, It is interesting that James E. Havis, Jr. must have died around 1891-3 in Bude. This was before the Midway Cemetery was opened so maybe he was buried in one of the church cemeteries in an unmarked grave. There were lots Robinsons in Amite County but I don't know if any of them are a part of Charles Robinson's line. I'm still looking for Sullivan, Flowers and many other lines, but hot weather is slowing me down. Tony Miller

Hey there, They just may have "Gone To Texas" because they sure have gone somewhere. I found a possible "Levi Robinson" born abt 1862, who married Mary Ann Tyler on December 18, 1887 in Jefferson Co, MS. The age would fit, but no confirmation at this time. Mary Rebecca Robinson and James E. Havis Jr are said to have been married in Franklin County, but I can't find a thing on them either. Mary Rebecca Robinson died in Hill Co, Texas in 1924, James E. had already been dead for over 30 years, but she and James never lived in Texas, she died while visiting my g-grandmother, who was her daughter-in-law, in Hubbard. So if all her brothers and sisters went to Texas, she and James stayed in Bude, MS. Mary Rebecca Robinson was the daughter of Charles Robinson and Louisa Right/Wright. Louisa Right/Wright was the daughter of Elijah Right/Wright and Mary Kendall, the Mary Right, age 71, that you mention below. The surrounding Right/Wrights are all related. But, no Robinson help. I am also researching a Robinson/Eads connection as a possibility. Are you still looking for the Flowers/Havis connection?
