Elijah COWARD is buried in a cemetery that I think is on the property he owned and then left to his oldest living son, James Lafayette COWARD. In 1976 I was taken to this cemetery by Russ COWARD, who is now deceased. Does anyone have the directions to this cemetery? It was well taken care of and James L. and Permelia WHITTINGTON COWARD are also buried there. Am hoping to visit Franklin Co this summer and would love to have this cemeteries direction.

Robin, My husband's grandmother was named Mary Martha Smith but she apparently went by "Mattie". This was the name I found listed on her marriage certificate. I have been trying to locate her Smith family without success so far. The date on her tombstone says she was born Feb.15, 1876. We think, but are not sure, that her family lived in Copiah County then. She married the second time in Lincoln County, MS. Notes my mother-in-law wrote at one time indicated she thought Mattie's parents were Joseph Smith and Margaret Brooks Smith. Her siblings, according to these notes, were "Doc", Russell, Rowan, Jenny, and Louise. I have no idea if these were the correct names for her parents or siblings. Mattie supposedly had brothers who lived in Franklin County although no one I talked to in the family knew exactly what their names were. Except for the name Mattie this family doesn't seem to fit the ones you name. I'm posting in case someone else recognizes this information. Mattie married first in Copiah County, we think, Thomas Hila James. She had two children when she married Luther Ernest Bailey in Lincoln County, MS. Would like to have any info on AUSTIN P. MIDDLETON, b.abt 1811, d. 12/7/1851 Natchez, MS. Have seen his name as a witness to a deed, but have found no record of him otherwise. Who were his parents and his siblings? Could he have been a child of Stephen & Dicey Middleton? There were several Middleton families living in this area in early 1800's. All info appreciated. He married Frances Jeanett CUPIT 5-25-1858 in Franklin Co. Thier children were; 1.Manerva b. 6-2-1859. Never married, died in an insane asylum. 2.Granberry b.9-30-1861 d.7-26-1937, married Rosalee JENKINS(can't find marriage date) they divorced 5-12-1886. Granberry married 2nd Malinda Armitta Dow on 9-26-1886. (Rosalee went on to marry Granberry's uncle Mayberry "Britt" Smith) 3.Nancy Jane b.1865 married John Eli Anding 4Serena J. b.1867 d.1896 married A.J. Jenkins. 5.Ophelia A. "Felie" b.1869 married Gardner Havis. 6.Mary E. b.1871 married Andrew Jackson "Jack" Smith (s/o Harbard Brunson Smith and Mary Linder) (Mary & Jack were 1st cousins)

Glenn, Daniel Sullivan did married Rebecca Lazarus but they either divorced or got an anullment. She married Jose Rodriguez in 2-22-1851. Becky and Daniel had no children. Jose and Becky 's oldest child Matilda married William Isom "Bill" SMITH. They are my line. I recieved the info that you sent me on James Monroe Smith. Thanks a lot. Leon, Robin, list, I have a Elizabeth Rebecca Lazarus (the only Lazarus in my database) married to Daniel Sullivan, January 03, 1849. He was born August 31, 1828, died January 06, 1898. Daniel was the 8th of 11 children of Dennis Sullivan and Pollia (Polly) Or Mary Hayes. I have nothing on the children of Daniel and Elizabeth. Any descendent info would be appreciated.
