Can anyone tell me about the steam boat the Stephen Middleton that sailed the MS River ca 1864 MS to LA? Who owned it and which Stephen Middleton was it named for. Thanks. Pauline Hallett pollywog@laughlin.net
I need help in trying to figure out who the people are in Stephen's household in 1790 SC census & 1810 MS census. 1790 - Georgetown Dist.SC: 3 M 16 & up; 2 F; one M would be Stephen who were other 2 M? One F probably his wife, who was other F. There is the possiblity that one M is married and one F is his spouse (a Jane?). 1810 MS Franklin Co. census - 2 M ov 21; 3 M un 21; 1 F ov 21; 3 F un 21. One M is Stephen, who is other M ov 21? The 3 M un 21 are probably James George Middleton, Levi Evans Middleton, Stephen N. Middleton, 1 F ov 21 would be his wife Dicey, who would be the 3 F un 21 (could one be Jane? apossible wife to the other M ov 21?), dau. Priscilla J. was not b. till 1812. In 1820 MS Franklin Co. census it shows a Jane for the first time as head of household, this after Stephen died in 1812, this is not his wife Dicey. She has 1 M un 10; 1 M 10-16; 3 F un 10; 1 F 26-45 (Jane). All help appreciated as this family is still my brick wall in making connections. Pauline Hallett pollywog@laughlin.net
