Debbie, I believe we have communicated in the past. Have you checked Mogan's Cemetery Records of Franklin County. There are five Thornhills listed in it: Minnie Lee Thornhill and Linnie Thornhill buried at Midway Cem. in Meadville; Adell Thornhill, d/o A. M. and L. L. White Thornhill at Hopewell Bapt. Ch. Cem. in Bude; Eliza Thornhill Emfinger at Sarepta Bapt. Ch. Cem. in Franklin Co.; and J. Eal Thornhill and infant child of W. J. and Mary Thornhill also found in Sarepta. Who are your Thornhill connections? My Franklin Co. research has some Thornhill data. In fact, the above Minnie Lee and Linnie Thornhill are in related lines of my Lees. TO whom it may concern: I have Thornhill's that lived in Franklin County in the 1800's and I can't find them in any cemetery books. I think they died there. Are there any sources for death information in Franklin County. Also, is there a death index for the state death certificates for MS? thanks, Debbie

I don't know if this will really help you or not, but is the best I can do. There is a H.C. FARNUM in the 1830 Adams Co census. His info is as follows: H.C. FARNUM 1 male 20-30 1 male 30-40 1 female 15-20 1 female 30-40 No RHODES family 1830 No FARNUM family 1840 but a RODES family (cant make out first initial) 1 male 20-30 1 male 30-40 1 female under 5 1 female 5-10 1 female 30-40 I don't see either name in Franklin Co. for 1820/30/40. 1850 Natchez, Adams CO. MS Jos. FARNHAM is living in the FINNEY household he is 33 male Carpenter b MS I'm not sure about the Rhodes because they're were so many. If you had his father's name or a county for them I might be able to check on that for you. Perhaps the lady your looking for is from the first FARNUM family I find in Adams Co., but not sure where they are after that.. Hope this helps. Posted on: Franklin Co. Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Franklin/791 Surname: Furniss, Farnham, Gregg ------------------------- I found more on Harriett Furniss of Franklin Co. After the death of her second husband, John Furniss, she was married to Henry Meredith and was found in the 1850 Franklin Co Census. Listed after the Meredith children were two "Furnace" children. They were Benjamin J? Furnace- 18 and Felix W. Furnace. I have seen John Furnace and family in an earlier census, but do not have that at this time. WF
Bob, There were 2 WRIGHT families in the 1840 Franklin Co., MS census. Both on page 163 of my Franklin Co Census book Elijah RIGHT 1 male 10-15 1 male 20-30 1 male 60-70 1 female 15-20 1 female 20-30 1 female 60-70 No slaves 3 in mining 1 insane 7 Dwellings away is Levi RIGHT 1 male under 5 1 male 30-40 1 male 40-50 1 female under 5 1 female 5-10 1 female 30-40 1 female slave 10-24 1 mining 1 commerce It would appear to me that Levi would be the father of your Rueben Jackson "Jack", if they were indeed still in Franklin Co in 1840, and by the looks of this the Elijah could be father of Levi.... You may have 2 generations right here!!!! You know you're family better than I do, and could determine whether or not this is who you are looking for... I certainly hope that I was of some help. PS... There is an Elijah WRIGHT in 1830 as well.
