I have a numer of Guices and Corbans born in TN who moved to and resided in Franklin County, MS and I have Shaws who were born in TN who settled in Jefferson County, MS. I have a feeling that there are a lot of people listed in "Tennessee before 1800," by Marjorie Hood Fischer, Frontier Press, Galveston, 1997, who moved on to Southwest Mississippi. I don't know where the earlier relatives were born prior to 1800. Two came from England, Two Africans(one by way of England) and one a slave owner named Daniel Wilson. I don't have a birth or death date for him, but he lived in Freewoods MS which in in Franklin County. My grandfather is from Tennessee and his parents I think as well. The were from Chatanuga. No. Not from the line I have. My Daniel Wilson did not show who his parents or siblings were. I just know that he lived in Freewoods by way of either Port Gibson or some other surrounding town and was a slave owner. If he was married before and had other children, I don't know about it. I am compiling research here in TN on Tennesseans who migrated into Southwest Mississippi Territory, i.e., Natchez District before 1820. I have developed a partial list of those folks who record a birth in TN on the 1850 census of Amite, Franklin and Pike. I am currently compiling a list for Adams, Wilkinson, and Jefferson cos. . He was married as a Chappell in 1879, after living with the Jesse Matthew Chappell family in the late 1860's and early 1870's. Family recollections has it that he and a twin brother, Obediah were born to a family named Woolam. They were said to have had a brother Frank who retained the Woolam name. Hi Billy, I am still looking for any information on Elan Byrd and John Miley. The paternal great, great, grandparents of my children. Elan's father was Sutton Byrd, I do not have her mother's name.
