I have a family of Days in Amite county who were probably tied in with this Fannie Day. I have a Robert Day who married a Rebecca Hannon, daughter to Rev. Barton Hannon and his wife, Rebecca. Robert and Rebecca "Fannie" Day were charter members of the Zion Hill Church in 1811. Their son, David Day, married Mary Johston and they named one of their children, Aaron Butler Day. He was named for Aaron Butler, who was a friend of the family. This is not a direct line for me, but I am interested just the same. This is the line of a cousin on the Day lines. I am always looking for new data on any of the lines as well as my own. thanks, Tina Hall Link: Tina's Family Genealogy Page URL: <http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thall>

Sorry to "cut in", but is Aaron Butler related to Albert Dobbins Butler b10/20/1866? Tim Ashley
Hi: saw your Butler reference---My ancestors were Butlers from Georgia--Wilkes County--Benjamin Gilbert married Hannah Butler about 1770 in VA and both families moved to GA. My ancestor, Samuel Gilbert, their child, fled an unhappy apprenticeship in Wilkes Co and came "west" to Alabama with a Butler relative--or so the family story goes--I find Samuel in the Natchez Territory in 1805 marrying his second wife. Could this Butler family be any relative of yours? I have Hannah's parents, etc if you are interested. My word! There are books written on this family! THE JERSEY SETTLERS, VOL I, II, III are probably the best place to start. I'm sure some of the Guice clan can tell you where to purchase these books--you can borrow on inter-library loan as well. The only information I have is on, John Ratcliff born June 21, 1819 in Amite Co., MS, died January 21, 1883, place unknown, married date and place unknown to Abigail Lofton. I do not have any information on Abigail or their children. I have the Ratcliff line back to Richard Ratcliff born in September 27, 1614 in Chapel Hill, Lancashire, England and Alice Rawsthorne born in England. My line goes: 1. Richard and Alice Rawsthorne Ratcliff 2. Richard and Mary Caterne Ratcliff 3. Samuel and Rachel Warner Ratcliff 4. James and Rachel Ratcliff Goodson 5. Benjamin and Emily Dorothy Mills Goodson 6. John Edward, II and Casandre Goodson Dove 7. Howell Columbus and Amanda Catherine Moody Dove 8. Robert Mansfield and Ethel Palestine Neal Dove 9. Otis Henry and Mamie Lee Neal Payne 10. Hazel Genevieve Payne LeBlanc --- that's me ! ! I would be very interested in exchanging information with you. I don't know if you would be interested but there will be a reunion in Hineston, Rapides Parish, LA on April 7th that I am planning on attending. It is being given by the descendants of Andrew Jackson and Sophronia Alice Dove Gray. Sophronia was the daughter of # 6 and the sister of # 7, my great grandfather. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. The roots of our family tree were planted deep in American soil. The trunk of the tree grew strong and it has many, many branches. Some branches are still bare and need your information. I will gladly exchange genealogy information with others. Nancy looking for Beat Four, Mississippi. I don't believe there is a beat Four Ms.. Beat Four would be like a voting or tax area or counting area for the census in a county. If you know what county this was in you should be able to find it. I'm not familar enough with Franklin County to know but I bet somebody on this rootsweb site could tell you what area of the county it's in. Good luck. Leon McCaa

Nancy & Leon, There are five voting districts in Franklin County. I'm fairly sure that District 4 is located in the eastern part of the county perhaps from McCall Creek to the county line, but don't have a current map that accurately shows this. The censuses are also enumerated by these districts. Tony Miller Jagi3@aol.com wrote: > Nancy looking for Beat Four, Mississippi. I don't believe there is a beat > Four Ms..
