Hi Glenn, The other husbands of Josephine Watson Cupit were E. E. Leggett and Thomas Jefferson Sanders. Ed Sanders and Ada Leggett/Sanders McCaa were her children. (Ed was also listed as "Leggett" on one of the census reports but was already a couple of years old when Josie married E. E. Leggett) Thanks, Debbie Waddell
Hi Gordon, Lucinda Wilson, widow of Alexander Cupit (probably killed in the Civil War) was born about 1825 in Alabama had 2 sons with Alexander Cupit: Cyrus Wilson Cupit b1844 - d around 1900 (who married Nancy Naoma Palmer, and had 10 children, of whom I have their names) and Daniel ? Cupit b 1843 - d poss also in Civil War? I don't have a record when or where she died. I have nothing on James M. Arnold. Could you furnish me with that side of the family? Hi Leon, Regarding our messages below of a few months ago - - - - At the Cool Springs reunion a few weeks ago, I was advised that Josephine Watson Sanders is buried in grave #52 (roofed plot) with no marker visible. She is between Emma Ezell Cupit (wife of Jaye Short Cupit, son of Jim Cupit) and Frances Wells Higgenbottom (who is next to Jim Cupit) Were Josephine Watson Sanders other husbands, Ed Sanders and Ada Hugh McCaa? If so, can you fill me in on the dates and the McCaa children of that marriages? There are also McCaa graves there that I have not been able to tie in to the Cupits. These are: Grave # 13 - Joseph T. McCaa 1 Jan 1892 - 26 May 1926 Grave # 14 - Sarah T. McCaa 21 Oct 1846 - 22 Oct 1910 Grave # 15 - Tarver B. McCaa 15 Nov 1940 - 11 Aug 1951 "our darling" Grave # 16 - Alene D. 13 Jun 1918 (still living ?) MC CAA Grave # 17 - Joe J. 19 Jun 1911 - 13 Nov 1976 MC CAA Grave # 18 - A. R. McCaa 12 Jun 1877 - 12 Jun 1965 Grave # 19 - J. E. McCaa 4 Nov 1866 - 1 Feb 1951 Grave # 20 - Infant son of Mr & Mrs WW McCaa 1 Sep 1908 - 1 Sep 1908 "suffer little children come unto me" The above numbering is from a Cemetery inventory and plot drawing done by Wanda Osborne, which I will enter into my computer soon. I now have most of the "Cupit Book" copied into my Cupit family database, but have almost no McCaa's listed. I need the McCaa connection to the Cupits with as many McCaas as possible to enter into my data. Specifically info on Eli Hugh McCaa, Walker McCaa, Joe McCaa (wife - Alene Delaney) and whatever you can furnish. I'm sure you have this posted somewhere. Please point the way, or send it to me as an attachment. My Cupit family database and related families now contains over 1800 persons. Is about a 460 KB .doc file and a 310 KB GEDCOM file that I can send as an attachment to you or anyone else who may be interested. As soon as I can, I will up-date the Cupit data that I previously listed on a couple of Internet sites, including your McCaa site. Steve, I do not know for certain, but one of his sons was named Henry Anthony Lee. From this one might conclude that it was Anthony; however, Henry's son knew very little about his grandfather. Tradition says that he left Franklin Co. first going to Natchez, MS and later settled near Jena, LA. One distant cousin tells of going to Jim's funeral sometime after 1910. I have these children for James A. Lee and his unidentified wife: Sidney, Sallie D., Henry Anthony, Percy, and Clarence. No further data is available.
