Scott is yet a driving force in the Desoto County Genealogical Society which is located at the DeSoto County Courthouse,d pianist at the Baker's Chapel Methodist Church in Hernando, Mississippi. A possible connection you might wish to look at is ELIZABETH (MORGAN) GREER 1795-1850, who is my gr gr grandmother and is the right age to have been JAMES MORGAN's sister Elizabeth's father is shown as ISAAC MORGAN 1757-1840, born in Faquier Co. VA and shown as having been "PVT, 10th NORTH CAROLINA Regiment in the Revolutionary War". (My records show Elizabeth and six siblings, none of which are JAMES) This was recorded by Mr. Atwell Scott (One of Mildreds cousins) and Mrs. Janice Barnett Craft in May of 1985 at the Morgan-Jackson cemetery which is in Desoto County. (see "Footprints In Time" offered by The Tate County Mississippi Genealogy and Historical Society (601) 562-0390, Thurs & Fri., 10-4:30 (pardon the commercial). There is also a 'J. S. MORGAN' Dec. 6, 1804-July 29, 1858 buried there as well as Roberta Massey 1848-1850, who is listed as the "son" of Allen A. & Susan T. Massey. Susan T. was Elizabeth Morgan's daughter. (I do not know which is correct, the Roberta or "son") Perhaps Mildred could answer this mystery. Anyway this should complicate things a little for you. :>) L&S, Bob Davis Vancouver, WA
