Gregory married Ruthie McKinley and lived on a large parcel of land located outside of Taylorsville in or around present-day Covington County. Gregory and Ruthie had a large family of 13 children: Luther, Davis, Van, Annie, Lula, Lizzie, Ruthie, Wesley, Albert, Wiley, Henry, Az, and George.
