The picture of the "1843 Jurors" is still located on the Covington County Website. The dating of the picture has come under some scrutiny. Right after posting the original announcement, I received 3 emails telling me that the clothing worn by the Jurors in the photo, appeared to be vintage 1890, not 1840. One of you suggested a Vintage Hatter in GA, which confirmed the same, that the hats shown in the photo was definitely of 1890 vintage, not 1840. Other comments were received on the shoes, which suggested the same. One responder offered that the photo shown on the Covington County site, was a copy that might have been cropped, which eliminated one gentleman that appears on the right side of the picture. I'm still waiting on a copy of that one. As soon as I get it, I will post it for your enjoyment and comments. Stay tuned! As before, I appologize for any duplicates you receive on this.
