A. J. Hall's first child was a James M. Hall, born in 1840, in Simpson Co, Mississippi. By 1850 they had moved to Smith County, and again in 1870 they moved to Covington County. This fact along with the unusual given name of Doctor makes it likely that your James and mine are the same. James brother, Doctor was refered to as Dock as an adult. James' younger sister, Missouri Edna Hall was my great grandmother, married to Lafayette "Leffie" Steward.
