    3. Posted on: Covington Co. Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Covington/887 Surname: Graves, Wilson, Dykes, Bullock, Rutland ------------------------- Dawn, We may have a match here. I have an Isaac N. Dykes, son of James Dykes and Mary Ann (Pollie) Rutland, b 1846. Married Sarah Jane, 1880. I show Isaac died in 1880, tho this is by no means carved in stone. My information comes from a descendant chart and, with the exception of his siblings, this is all I have on Isaac. Those siblings were: William B; Henry C; Sarah Ann; Mahala Ann; L. A.; W. R.; H. L.; and J. B. This descendant chart I have is on the Rutland line and it also shows ANDERSON Rutland, b 1838, brother to Mary Ann (Pollie), and married to Betsy Wilson and Elizabeth Graves. According to this chart, the 1900 census shows, under Notes for Betsy Wilson,: stepson, Martin Wilson, b 1867; Mary A. Wilson, neice, b 1866; EMMANUEL, nephew, b 1871; DAniel, nephew, b 1874 and Floyd, nephew, b 1879. There is also the notation: Alona, sister or sister-in-law, b 1852. (I have not figured it out!) My gr gr grandmother was Lydia Graves married Quinney Bullock. She was the daughter of Robert Hiram and Cecelia Jane Dickens Graves. Lydia's daughter, Susana Bullock, married William Allen Rutland. I am having a very difficult time sorting out the Rutland connections of Covington Co. They include the Dykes, Wilsons, Graves, and others. Perhaps you can help sort out the families. Loretta

    3. Posted on: Covington Co. Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Covington/878 Surname: Hall ------------------------- Hi Carol, I would say it is quite likely that this is the same family. A. J. Hall's first child was a James M. Hall, born in 1840, in Simpson Co, Mississippi. By 1850 they had moved to Smith County, and again in 1870 they moved to Covington County. This fact along with the unusual given name of Doctor makes it likely that your James and mine are the same. James brother, Doctor was refered to as Dock as an adult. James' younger sister, Missouri Edna Hall was my great grandmother, married to Lafayette "Leffie" Steward. Another sister, Caroline Elizabeth Hall was married to my g2 granduncle, Moses Prophet Stuard. Contact me at the above email address and we can share information. Robert

Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Ms/Covington/877 Surname: Hall ------------------------- The Dock I am looking for is Dock Elias Alton Hall b. 3-14-1869 to 1873 married first to Sallie Tew, 2nd to Eula Lee Cole. They did live in Covington Co. on the edge of Smith County, MS. It is possible that this was a relative since family names were passed down and your Doctor may be the origin for my Dock's name. I have info that Dock Elias' father was J. F. Marion Hall b. 12/1/1840 d. 7/25/1891 and Marion's father may be Abram J. Hall b. 12/1/1817 d 6/26/1892 married to a Martha. Does any of this link?

Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Covington/873 Surname: Norwood, Duckworth, Speed, Magee ------------------------- In January 2000, I visited Salem Baptist Church Cemetery near Collins and took several photographs of gravestones for names that are in my line. I have been able to connect all except those of Howard J. Duckworth, b.5/3/1910, d.7/23/1972 and his wife Lois H. Duckworh, b. 5/24/1909, d. 8/11/1998. Their names do not appear in the Benjamin Duckworth book yet, because of location and name, I am sure Howard is a descendant of the Benjamin Duckworth clan. Can anybody help with information on these two people. Thanks - Merry Christmas. Bill Link: Family Tree of Bill Norwood URL: <http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=joanbill>
