Nope. I haven't heard a word about George M. Mooney's family. I would appreciate it if anyone could fill in some blanks for me. Here's the info I have for him: GEORGE M. MOONEY (WILLIAM2, JAMES M.1) was born October 1859 in Alabama, and died January 11, 1907 in Covington County, MS. He married J. ENDIE WATSON Abt. 1874, daughter of JOHN WATSON and MALINDA GRAVES. She was born Abt. 1860 in Mississippi, and died July 18, 1913. George's father was WILLIAM MOONEY (JAMES M.1), born 1838 in Alabama. He married ELIZABETH ASHCRAFT June 1860 in Leake Co., Mississippi. She was born 1838 in Mississippi. Notes for WILLIAM MOONEY: Apr 5, 1997: Isaac Shiflet (NorthZulch@aol.com) sent info about his Mooney family in Edinburg, Leake county, MS. His mother's grandfather was George W. Mooney who had a brother names William Mooney, born 1838. William appears to be George M. Mooney's father. Marriage Notes for WILLIAM MOONEY and ELIZABETH ASHCRAFT: FTM CD5--not confirmed Children of WILLIAM MOONEY and ELIZABETH ASHCRAFT are: 4. i. GEORGE M.3 MOONEY, b. October 1859, Alabama; d. Posted on: Covington Co. Ms Queries Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Covington?read=632 Surname: Blackwell, Hollingsworth ------------------------- An update!!! The picture of the "1843 Jurors" is still located on the Covington County Website. The dating of the picture has come under some scrutiny. Right after posting the original announcement, I received 3 emails telling me that the clothing worn by the Jurors in the photo, appeared to be vintage 1890, not 1840. One of you suggested a Vintage Hatter in GA, which confirmed the same, that the hats shown in the photo was definitely of 1890 vintage, not 1840. Other comments were received on the shoes, which suggested the same. One responder offered that the photo shown on the Covington County site, was a copy that might have been cropped, which eliminated one gentleman that appears on the right side of the picture. I'm still waiting on a copy of that one. As soon as I get it, I will post it for your enjoyment and comments. Stay tuned! As before, I appologize for any duplicates you receive on this.
