Am going to be in Crystal Springs during the Christmas-New Years Holidays and will try to obtain a copy of the "Transcribed History of Copiah County" and will ask for permission to transcribe it to this mailing list. Am also willing to help out with the organization of a Copiah County Historical Society although I live in Virginia and only get back to MS once or twice a year to visit my mother-in-law, Mrs. Ina Grantham at Lake Copiah. She loaned me her copy of "Gallman, It's Early History" by Mary Helen Sims which I have listed online at "Books We Own" for lookups. I hope you have a wonderful time while you are there the town itself doesnt change much. no matter where we have lived all our lives after the age of 19 CS will always be home for my husband I both. We dont get there much anymore because its difficult for me to travel with this genetic illness http://www.alphaa1.org and its in all my family lines of family Evans Jenkins Woods Strong Hutchison Overall the lovely Whisteria Inn I hear is a nice place dont know how they ever converted that ole Huber house into such a lovely place. I dont know is Paul Cartwright is owner of this Cartwright Estate Liquidations, Inc on Gallatin St in Hazlehurst makes me wonder tho, am sure he is related to someone there. Enjoy your family time.
