    1. Clarification re: Old Crystal Springs Cemetery
    2. Sandra Tipton
    3. I just want to clarify a couple of things that I'm afraid have been misinterpreted regarding Old Crystal Springs Cemetery. You see, I too am a County Coordinator (for Concordia and Tensas Parishes in Louisiana). I realize the amount of time and effort that goes into getting data online (believe me!) and I appreciate it greatly. I also realize that in doing cemeteries (we have done between 30 and 40 in Concordia Parish), a transcription can be obsolete the same day it is done if a new burial takes place. In addition, I realize that a transcription or any other piece of information found online or passed from another person has to be verified. I'm afraid my prior comments may have appeared critical of the people involved in Copiah County and they were not intended in that manner. I can appreciate a researcher wanting to get his family's information online but not have time to transcribe an entire cemetery. However, for those of us not researching that family, it would be extremely helpful if the transcription of the stones of only this family were not linked as the cemetery transcription because it is not representative of the entire cemetery. They can easily be linked as family information and then anyone researching this family will find this very helpful. Part of my frustration was based on the small amount of time available to me during my visit to Crystal Springs. I was vacationing in Louisiana (I live in Tennessee) and wanted to spend the better part of a day in Copiah County. My mistake was in assuming that if the stones of my family were not in this transcription that they had been destroyed or were no longer present. Considering I had to drive 2+ hours to get to Crystal Springs and the last known transcription containing the information of my family was done in 1950s and there had been vandalism, we didn't take the day as planned to go there. I was concerned that it would be a waste of time and gas (where we were, it was $1.46 a gallon). Anyway, I hope I have clarified my position. I, in no way, meant to minimize the effort and sacrifice that goes into this work. My suggestions relate primarily to the way the files are presented....there are always going to be dummies like me.
