I'm new to this list and just starting to research the Thompson/Shivers/Ellzey lines of the family. I'm looking for information about the Copiah branch of my family. My great grandparents lived in Copiah County (Wesson) from at least 1894 but probably much further back and may even have been born there. They left after their home was destroyed by fire and they lost a daughter (Nettie) in the fire but they only moved to Brookhaven in neighboring Lincoln County. Info I have: Mary Theodocia (Docia) Ellzey/Ellzy married ? Thompson. They had many children including: Troy Thompson, Sr. (my grandfather), married Kathryn Elizabeth Nina Balfour and had two sons Troy, Jr. (my father) and James Edmund, both born in Brookhaven, Lincoln County, 1921 and 1928 respectively His twin brother Roy, born Abt. 1894, married someone called (I believe) "Pink" Eddie Estelle Thompson, married Benton Cain Elizabeth (Bessie) Thompson, never married Nettie Thompson I believe there were more children but I'm not sure. Any information on any of the family would be appreciated. My father remembers his grandmother in particular but only stories, not names and facts!
