I have a funeral notice of a great aunt, Nettie Thompson, which reads: "The friends and acquaintances of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Thompson are respectfully invited to attend the funeral services of their daughter, Nettie, at the Baptist Church, Wesson, Miss., May 10th 1895." Mr. E. H. Thompson was Edmund Henshaw Thompson and his wife was Mary Theodocia (Docia) Ellzey. Nettie was a young girl or child when she died of burns. Does anyone know the name of the Baptist Church at this time period? The wording of the notice seems to imply that there was only one Baptist church there at the time.
