Hello All, Does anyone have information about Sampson Jackson JOHNSON's parents? Sampson was born 20 Aug. 1823 in TN, died 7 Feb. 1914 in Hazlehurst, Copiah Co., MS, married first Sarah A.___ about 1842, married second Sarah Elizabeth FORTENBERRY, (daughter of Jeremiah Fortenberry) 4 May 1854 Copiah, MS. Sampson had one daughter and three sons by his first wife: Martha A., William J., George N. (or W.), and Hiram A. He had five daughters and three sons by his second wife: Nancy, Benjamin Franklin, Mary (or Mollie), Sarah (or Sallie E.), Laura Belle, Cordella E., Sampson Jackson, and Henry H. He is on the 1850 Copiah census, a saddler and lived in Gallatin. I did not find him on the 1860 MS census, but he is on 1870, 1880, 1900 (Hazlehurst) and 1910 (Hazlehurst), Copiah censuses. I have a copy of his death certificate which, unfortunately does not name his parents. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I've researched this family thoroughly and have some info about his children and grandchildren which I'll be glad to share.
