If you have never used the county archives, you are really missing a lot. Unfortuantely, many counties don't have the dedicated submitters that is needed. Where I live in Winn Parish, Louisiana, we have a great online archives everyone should take a look at. One submitter has put up over 5000 obits from the old newspapers. Almost all the cemeteries have been put online, etc. To access any of these archives go to www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ and follow the directions.
