    1. [MSCOPIAH-L] Invitations for Balls in 1866 & 1867
    2. Hi: This is to the site manager. I have 4 invitations sent to Miss Cornelia Butler, in 1866 & 1867. Cornelia was my great grandfather's first wife, (Jefferson Davis Dunbar). I have many lines in Copiah & Jefferson Co. I recently got a hold of these invitations, with envelopes, etc. & have scanned them. I would like to share them with this site for anyone who might enjoy seeing them. The unique thing is that each has an invitation committee & they list all the names of the ones on the committee & they are different on each invitation. One is for a MAY BALL given by the yourng men of Gallatin, 1866; another is an invitation to the New Years Ball given by the young men of Terry, 1867; one is an invite to attend a BALL and Supper at the Odd Fellow's Hall Port Gibson, MS, 1866; one is for a Ball in Jackson. Cornelia S. Butler was born, raised, & married in Copiah Co., MS. I have also typed these letters up since the old ink is faded & without enlarging is difficult to read. They will probably be easier to send in this form rather than the scanned originals. Someone who can advise me what to do & or how, please contact me at jholzer321@aol.com. Janice Holzer

    3. I grew up in Crystal Springs, and its part of who I once was and where I came from, my roots are there from the early 1820 through today And transcribing the 1850 census, I found so many people I never really knew about, but putting the pieces together, have been a blessing, and if I can help one person out there, thats why we are all here.
