Rethinking on James children Starting from scratch. Francis Fontaine m. Ann Jasper daughter Mary Fontaine m. Benjamin Risher son John Fontaine m. ? John & ? had Thomas Alexander Fontaine (1799-1848, m. 1824 AL) who married Sarah Risher (1805-?) Lucinda James was living with Sarah Risher in 1860 census Thomas Alexander Fontaine & Sarah Risher had several children 1. Mary Susannah Fontaine (1825-1891) m. Thomas Kervin Carter 2. Elizabeth Jane Fontaine (1837-1917) m. James Patterson Johnston (1835-1914) Elizabeth & James m. June 4, 1857, in Clarke Co. Other children in this marriage Elizabeth & James had several children 1. Columbus Washington J 2. Naomi C. Johnston July 15, 1861-Jan 27, 1899--on tombstone in Mont Rose Cem. Naomi married William G. K. James Nov. 23, 1876, Clarke Co. (have certificate) 1850 census Frances James, age 8, with Benjamin Risher/Rasher b. 1842 Amelia James, age 6, with Thomas K. Carter b. 1844 1860 census Will James, age 18, home of a Rice with a Bankston there, too. 1876--Naomi Johnston & William G. K. James married 1880 census Will James, age 23, Amonia, age 19, & Willie, age 2 My grandmother was Willie James, born 1878--Is this William G. K. James? I can't find a place of burial for William G. K. James. His parents are possibly the clue to the James children being scattered. Watch me!
