Sarah & Thomas had a daughter Elizabeth Jane Fontaine who married James Patterson Johnston. Elizabeth & James had a daughter Naomi C. Johnston--think she is possibly my great grandmother. Naomi would be sister to Martha S. who married Carter. My grandfather was William G. K. James married to Naomi C. Johnston We can't find anything on him. I do know he was married twice. Several children by Naomi & at least one by another wife. Half brother is W. K. James. Naomi C. is buried at Mont Rose in Clarke Co. We can't find his place of burial. Sarah could be a grandparent to these James children. If my Naomi is siter to your Martha, this would be a link. Don't know why they are scattered.
