John not on 1850 census however was on 1848, 1851 and 1852 tax lists. Another John Carmichael m. 24 Feb 1857 to Levicy Petty was on 1850 census. Any relationship between the three men? My ancestor, Margaret Carmichael m. James Stapleton 1856 and is presumed to be daughter of Archibald and sister of John m. 1857 (James' father bonded for this marriage) but.... Any help appreciated
