    1. Re: M.A. Grayson
    2. Thanks so much for your reply. I'm forwarding your message to the Clarke List, in hopes that someone can tell me who MARY ARABELLA GRAYSON's parents were. I think you're correct in that she was not Mary Hayes Grayson's daughter, based on birthdates. We'll keep in touch! Marion;) In a message dated 9/23/00 9:28:35 PM Central Daylight Time, dsddive@bellsouth.net writes: << Subj: M.A. Grayson Date: 9/23/00 9:28:35 PM Central Daylight Time From: dsddive@bellsouth.net (Deborah Denham) To: MGRAYSON98@aol.com I received your e-mail about Mary Grayson. I do not think the Mary Grayson that married A. P. Denham is the same Mary Grayson whose mother is Mary Hayes Grayson, unless the dates are wrong. Here is what I know about A.P. Denham's wife. M. A. Grayson was his 2nd wife (his first wife died.) Her full name was Mary Arabella Grayson & she was born Sept. 20, 1871 in Maxvill, MS. Mary & A.P. Denham were married in Clarke Co., MS on Oct. 27, 1894. The had 6 children that I know of. 1. Mary Arabella Denham, born 10/18/1896 & died 1/29/1968. She was called Mary Belle by the family. She married Percy H. Boykin. She is buried at Antioch Cemetery in Clarke Co., MS. 2. Susan Denham, born Feb, 1899 & died in 1980. She married Angus J. Bonner 3. Maudell Denham, born in 1905. I do not know anything else about her. 4. J.P. Denham, born Sept. 13, 1907 & died June 27, 1990. He is buried at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery. He married Mary Virginia Denham (maiden name unknown) & to my knowledge, she is still living. 5. Alma Denham, born Nov. 10, 1910 & died May 24, 1941. She married Earl Carroll. She is buried at Cedar Creek Church Cemetery in Clarke Co., MS. 6. There is another child who was either still born or died shortly after birth, who is buried at Cedar Creek Church Cemetery. I do not know if it was a boy or girl & the grave is only marked by a cement border. This grave is next to Mary A. Grayson's grave at Cedar Creek. I hope this helps. If I find any more info, I will pass it on. Mary Grayson was my father's stepgrandmother. I will ask if he knows anything about the Hayes'. Are you related to the Mary Grayson who married A.P. Denham? Look forward to hearing from you. Susie in Mobile, AL. >>
