Thanks to Billy Beckman, we now have a new page honoring Confederate soldiers who served from Clarke Co., or had connections here. This will be an ongoing project until Billy can get all the data compiled. So far, we have the A's and B's. Thanks, Billy! http://www.netpathway.com/~bennie/confedsold.htm Also, today I re-posted the 1840, 1850, 1860, and 1870 census and the 1840-1870 index. Yesterday, re-posted the Confederate Pension Applications. Bennie
Bennie: You are a dear. You just saved me a trip to the library to look up a family on the censuses in order to answer a question for someone relating to a mutual connection. I don't know about other folks but I owe you big time. Thanks to Billy also for the new Confederate page because now we can find more family. Fortunately our library has all the Confederate Pension Applications so I have been able to locate my greatgrandfather's pension application. He was a Jones Co. soldier. Now knowing who else may be related will help put whole families together. Thanks again guys.
